Mom, I am feeling sleepy, said rohan immediately after reaching home from school.

So he slept the way he is after coming from school, after an hour so he woke up and changed his clothes after washing the face.

His mom started saying that, I have been saying everyday that there is no screen time till late night. But you never listen to me. See today you have been sleepy all over the day. I think you were unable to concentrate in the class too right. Rohan, he nodded his head.

Is this the case of your child too?

It's no secret that getting a good night's sleep is important for our overall health and well-being. But did you know that it's especially important for children?

While children need about the same amount of sleep as adults (7-9 hours per night), their sleep patterns are very different. For example, children are more likely to sleep later on weekends and during the summer months. This can be a problem for parents who are trying to get their kids up and out the door for school or other activities.

So what happens when a child doesn't get enough sleep?

Studies have shown that sleep deprivation in children can lead to:

· Poor grades in school

· Increased risk of obesity

· Behavioral problems

· Increased risk of accidents

· Impaired immune function

· Depression

Clearly, getting enough sleep is crucial for children. So what can parents do to help their kids get the sleep they need?

Here are some tips:

· Establish a regular bedtime routine and stick to it as much as possible.

· Make sure your child's bedroom is dark, quiet, and comfortable.

· Limit screen time (television, computers, smartphones, etc.) before bed.

· Avoid giving your child caffeine before bed.

· Get your child up and moving during the day. Physical activity can help promote better sleep at night.

By following these tips, you can help your child get the sleep they need to thrive.

The story is from my upcoming book "THE EIGHTH WONDER" There are more like these tips and procedures which are discussed in the book. Stay tuned.
